Del Mar Fair, 2010

Each year, San Diego holds its County Fair at Del Mar. In 2010, I went to the Fair with my plastic, Holga camera. The camera shoots 120-format film, and costs about $50 new. Holga images are distinguished by the "image circle" within the square frame. Also, each image is sharp in the middle of the frame and increasingly fuzzy as you move to the edges. Here, the images are digital scans of the original, silver gelatin, selenium toned prints. The camera captures the timeless sense of the Fair -- the images might have been taken in 1920. Some things don't change.
